I help members of our community overcome depression, anxiety, and trauma through the use of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). These therapies allow you to develop an understanding of the connection between life experiences, the thoughts we experience, and the emotional reactions we have to them. I use a warm, down-to-earth style to help you understand what’s happening, build practical skills, and move toward lasting change.
As an Army veteran, I’m especially passionate about supporting veterans and first responders who carry heavy experiences and life stresses. My goal is to walk with you, at your pace, toward a calmer and more grounded life by building confidence, clarity, and practical tools that work in real life. Using CBT and ACT, I guide you toward feeling grounded, capable, and more in control. My goal is to help you reconnect with your strength and move forward with steady, meaningful progress.

Life’s challenges can feel overwhelming—but you don’t have to face them alone. Helix Counseling was founded on a simple yet powerful belief: healing begins with understanding. For me, that understanding started decades ago with my grandfather, a U.S. Navy veteran who served in Vietnam. He was a man of strength and character, yet I saw him struggle with depression and PTSD symptoms he carried home from war. His resilience and vulnerability shaped my view of what true courage looks like. Years later, during my own service in the U.S. Army, I witnessed many of my friends and fellow soldiers battling similar invisible wounds. These experiences left a lasting impression and sparked a deep desire to help those who serve—and anyone facing life’s toughest battles—find hope and healing. When I transitioned out of the military, I had a continued calling to serve our community. I chose counseling because I wanted to make a difference for those who experience the challenges of overcoming trauma. I wanted to honor those who sacrificed so much for our great nation. Through my undergraduate and graduate studies, and later in clinical practice, I immersed myself in trauma-focused care. The more I learned, the more determined I became to help individuals and families overcome the impact of traumatic experiences. Helix Counseling exists to empower people to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience. Our mission is clear: to serve as a trusted partner for veterans, first responders, and our community—delivering care that promotes lasting change. We envision a future where mental health care is accessible, compassionate, and transformative. Our values guide everything we do. Through RESOLVE—Respect, Empathy, Service, Opportunity, Loyalty, Virtue, and Excellence—we commit to ethical care, personal growth, and unwavering support for our clients. These principles reflect not only our professional standards but also the lessons I learned in the military and throughout life. What makes Helix Counseling unique? We offer evidence-based therapies tailored to individual needs, faith-informed counseling for those who request it, and specialized programs for military families and first responders. We also integrate innovative approaches like Jiu Jitsu-based resilience training and relationship workshops grounded in the Gottman Method. Every service we provide is rooted in compassion and a commitment to help clients reclaim their strength and purpose. Your journey matters. Let us walk alongside you toward healing and growth. Together, we can find RESOLVE.
